The Mississippi Way2Go card is used by Mississippi claimants to access their unemployment insurance funds and make small purchases immediately.

Funds can be spent at any retailer that accepts VISA or debit MASTERCARD.

The Mississippi Way2Go card is more than just a Mississippi Unemployment Debit Card.

Mississippi’s government programs that use the Way2Go card are designed to make it easier and more streamlined than money transfer services or check cashing.

The Way2go Mississippi Card has replaced the Mississippi EppiCard, and balance transfers from the Mississippi EppiCard to the Way2Go card are impossible.

Mississippi UI provides this support by reimbursing part of an employee’s wage for up to 26 weeks, with the provision that the employee will continue to look for work.

Possible UI Benefits

UI recipients may also qualify for several other financial benefits, including relocation allowances, UIB (unemployment income benefit), childcare allowances, and training allowances.

Mississippi UI Benefits requirements

To qualify for Mississippi Unemployment insurance, a person must meet the following criteria:

  • Is actively seeking employment
  • Has earned at least $1,500 in wages during a one–year base period
  • The base period is the first four of the last five complete calendar quarters ending no later than nine months before the date the benefits are to begin.
